No. Spring hinges and hydraulic hinges use different mechanisms.
Spring hinges use a spring mechanism to provide the force needed to close the shower door. They are simple and reliable, but the closing action is generally less controlled.
Hydraulic hinges use hydraulic damping to control the door’s closing movement, providing a smoother and more controlled closing action. Depending on the design, the closing speed may also be adjustable.
When choosing between them, consider the shower door’s glass thickness, door width, weight, required hinge arrangement, and desired closing performance.
6. What should I send for an OEM shower hinge quotation?
Send the hinge or door drawing, glass thickness, mounting layout, requested finish and order quantity. Include any branding, packaging or sample requirements.
